How cute is this? I followed a CardMaps sketch that uses strips of patterned paper in the background - I thought it was a great way to use up some scraps of retired Designer series papers I have laying around! (click on the weirdly distorted photos for a clear close up look)
The sketch showed an owl sitting on a branch, so I pulled out my Owl Punch and Bird Punch from Stampin' Up! and started to play...
The snowy branches are made with the Bird Punch, the hat is stamped from "Sock Monkey Accessories", and the white fluffy stuff is Liquid Applique, which I still have in the drawer from back in the day when Stampin' Up! sold it.
My Santa Owl is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals, and the background behind him is embossed on my Sizzix Big Shot with an embossing folder that isn't from Stampin' Up! I tried our new "Northern Flurry" embossing folder first, but it didn't quite give me the all-over coverage that I wanted this time.
Looking at this card reminds me that snow isn't far off .. but not this weekend - the weatherman is promising warm and sunny days for our Canadian Thanksgiving!
