The Purple Thistle - Sew your own Cloth Diapers from start to finish. 1-2 pm - A One-size pocket diaper. Learn all the tricks for sewing a one-sized pocket diaper using the Nykibaby pattern. Test out the snap press/pliers as we put the snap closure and adjustable rise on the PUL (polyurethane laminate) outer. Learn to make a welt pocket opening in the a stay-dry inner fabric for easy insert stuffing. 2-3 pm - A Fitted diaper with a quick dry soaker. Black Tulip Design - The Native Strawberry Emery: Native Beaded Strawberry emeries were made in the mid to late 1800s. The emery features raised or embossed beadwork indicative to the Native work of the Victorian era. A selection of antique Native emeries will be on display. The Strawberry emery is reborn using traditional materials and techniques. First Nations Artisan Naomi Smith will demonstrate the construction and beadwork methods required. *Kits will be available for purchase.
